Miss Jakera A. Cox, M.Ed.
Greetings All!
This is my second year teaching at the Saint Pete Plato Academy campus. Last year, I taught a very successful third grade class.
I hold a Bachelor's in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. I attended the University of West Alabama, where I received my Bachelor's and Ashford University for my Master's. I hold a vaild teaher's certificate in both Florida and Georgia. However, according to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, I do not meet 'highly qualified' standards in Florida based on not having taken the Florida content knowledge exam. I received my inital teacher cerification from the state of Alabama, which is where I took my content knowledge exam. I have taught in the state of Florida since 2010 and I feel that I am more than quailified for the position I currently hold. I am currently working on being ESOL endorsed through the Pinellas County School District professional development system to better serve our diverse population of learners.
Thank you,
Miss Cox
